Ken Hares

Ken began his interest in photography at age 16, shooting black & white film and printing in his darkroom/bedroom. Ken was first certified in 1964, quit in 1971 due to a broken leg, and got back into diving in 1987 when wife Jo Arnett suggested certification. Immediately Ken bought a Nikonos 5 (didnāt know any better). Ken now uses the Nikonos and a Pentax in an Ikelite housing. He also has what started out as an old Nikon F body just for fun, that is now complete with Sport Viewfinder, 60 MM macro lens, and Ikelite housing. His strobes are a variety of Ikelite models.

Ken has won a couple of Honorable Mentions in International contest, but is still working on the "big one". His photos have been published in Outdoor California and Discover Diving Magazine.

Ken was the NCUPS featured photographer for April, 1999.
