Clark first picked up camera and lens back in 1974 when he was a whitewater raft guide on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Back then his housing was a steal 50mm ammunition box, still considered standard issue. Not until he became a diver in 1983 did he become interested in underwater photography. Clark was a dive master for Baja Expeditions in the Sea of Cortez. For 12 years he traveled to Baja safari style camping on the beach and trying to capture the images of this magical peninsula. But it was the influence of NCUPs and the talent of other photographersâ work that have inspired him to become serious about this unique art form. Over the last six years Clark has traveled to many photo hot spots in efforts to hone his photo skills. This year the Galapagos Islands call to him. And then, once again, back to Baja, his second home. Clark served as director of The California Beach Dive Photo Competition in Monterey from 1999 to 2001!
