An Evening w/ Bruce Watkins
March 9 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm PDT
Our March 9th meeting will feature Bruce Watkins, and Bruce will discuss a potpourri of topics. First, Bruce will describe the shark and reef diving around Southeast Farallon Island. Divers have been shark diving there from cages for 20 years. This season there will be opportunities to dive from submersible cages to view sharks from the bottom. The cage also acts as an “elevator” to safely get divers from the boat to the bottom where they can leave the cage and explore the reef. Second, Bruce will discuss the explosive growth the purple sea urchin population, and efforts underway to restore our kelp forests. Lastly, we will have a discussion on how to get published.
