NCUPS Speaker Guidelines

These guidelines were developed to provide guidance to our speakers and to ensure the overall success of the presentation.

Presentation

The NCUPS membership meeting begins at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Members generally start arriving around 7:15 p.m. As a presenter, you should plan to arrive by 7:30 p.m. to ensure we have plenty of time to set up for your presentation. Feel free to arrive earlier if you want to mingle before the meeting. After a short bit of NCUPS' business, your presentation should start by 8:20 p.m. We recommend you limit your presentation to approximately 45 minutes so there's plenty of time for questions and answers during and after. If you are presenting slides, this means generally 80 slides.

As NCUPS has a mandate to educate, we also recommend you weave in some kind of educational aspect into your presentation. As the audience is likely to be comprised mainly of photographers, anything on tips and techniques, lessons learned, animal behavior, conservation, etc… would likely be well-received by the audience. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Equipment

NCUPS has various audio/video equipment available to aid in your presentation. This includes both digital and slide projectors, a VHS player, and a sound system. Please let us know what your requirements are so we can plan accordingly.

Thanks for coming!
